League champions Derrylaughan remain on course for a potential Intermediate double after a storming final quarter at Galbally on Saturday afternoon saw them come from behind to beat Eglish. The St.Patricks got the opening two points of the game from Emmett McKenna and Conor McCann but the Kevin Barrys turned things around to lead 0-5 to 0-2 at the break thanks to efforts from Patrick Quinn, Tomas Carney and Liam Gervin.
By the end of the third quarter Eglish had turned a three point deficit into a two point lead thanks to efforts from Peter McCann, Matthew McGleenan, Colm Byrne and Gregory Jordan. Having lost Pauric Martin to a straight red card in the first half Eglish were to finish the game with twelve men after the McKenna brothers Emmett and Ryan were both dismissed as well. In between times Derrylaughan took control with points from Brian Kennedy, Fergal McAliskey, Ciaran Gervin and Carney with the latter also getting a goal before McAliskey put the icing on the cake with a late penalty as it finished 2-13 to 0-8.
