Three first half goals against the wind proved to be crucial as Tattyreagh advanced to the last four of the Donnelly Vauxhall Junior championship at the expense of Derrytresk at Galbally on Saturday afternoon. Robert Porter sent the winners on their way when he blasted to the net in the 4th minute and Gareth Mimnagh and defender Damien Mullan followed suit. Niall Gavin and Caolan Corr had Derrytresk points but they trailed 3-5 to 0-4 at the break.

An early second half goal from Padraig Bell gave Derrytresk hope of mounting a comeback but they could never get within five points of their opponents. James Darcy, Eoin McGinn, Chris McCarroll, Jarlath McDonagh and Sean Gormley all featured on the score sheet for the winners and while Gavin was the game’s top scorer with seven points for Derrytresk it wasn’t enough as Tattyreagh ran out 3-11 to 1-8 winners.
