Clonoe scored two late goals to give their result against Moy a rather flattering look at the end. Sean Cavanagh top scored for his team with 1-5 while Tommy Conlon was their only other scorer. Patrick Doris, Danny Mc Nulty (2) and Ryan T O’Neill were the men to find the net for the O’Rahillys who will be delighted with another fine away win.
Trillick recorded a fine 4-14 to 0-9 win over Augher but the victory came at a price with the injury to county man Matty Donnelly marring an otherwise perfect day. Star forward Lee Brennan bagged a hat trick of goals inside the opening twenty minutes of the first half while Daire Gallagher also found the net for the Reds. Augher were shell-shocked by Trillick’s fast paced start to the game and reached the break 4-02 to 0-4 down at the break. All four of Augher’s points came from Dara Donnelly frees.
The situation did not improve much for Augher after the break as Trillick coasted to victory. Rory Brennan, Ritchie Donnelly, Lee Brennan and Frank Mc Caughey were among the Reds point scorers after the break.
Killyclogher maintained their fine league form with a convincing 0-14 to 0-5 home win over a disappointing Donaghmore. The winners faced the breeze in the first half in fine scoring form and reached the break leading 0-7 to 0-3. Bradley (0-5), Niall Mc Fadden and Declan Leonard got their scores while Deasuin Quinn and Philip Donnelly replied for Donaghmore. Killyclogher upped their work rate in the second period with Dermot Carlin, Conal Mc Cann, Emmett Mc Fadden all contributing to a well deserved win.
Greencastle produced a great team display to pip Errigal Ciaran 2-10 to 1-11 in a very tight game. Tommy Canavan gave his side the perfect start when he converted a first minute penalty and he, along with Darren Canavan and Ryan Lynch, was among the points for Errigal. There was little between the sides throughout with Greencastle edging the first half 1-5 to 1-4. Errigal came back to tie the game at 1-8 apiece midway through the second half but Greencastle finished strongly to nick the win. Mark Carson top scored for the winners with 1-4 while Shane Mc Cullagh’s second half goal helped seal the win.
A converted free with the last kick of the match earned Dungannon Clarkes a share of the spoils with Carrickmore on Sunday as the game finished 1-14 to 2-11. Dungannon worked hard to reach the break leading by five 0-7 to 0-2. Patrick Quinn, Kiefer Morgan and John Toal were among the first half scorers for The Clarkes while only former county men Martin Penrose and Mark Donnely managed to find the target for Carrickmore.
Carmen improved in the second half but were guilty of missing several good chances of goals. Paul Mc Aleer eventually found the net to put his team in front midway through the second period. Dungannon however recovered to lead by two courtesy of scores from Matty Walsh and Kiefer Morgan. Mark Donnelly hit his side’s second goal to put Carrickmore ahead but Dungannon replied immediately when Johnathan Toal scored his team’s only major of the game. The sides swapped scores before Morgan earned a dramatic draw with his late free.
Dromore and Coalisland played out a compelling rehearsal for the championship at Gardrum Park before the home side emerged one point winners. Sean Mc Donnell got the winner’s goal while Eoin Mc Cusker, Niall Sludden and Colm Mc Crory delivered the points. Coalisland had put themselves into a strong position when Eoghan Carberry goaled with five minutes remaining to lead 1-8 to 0-9. The home side showed all their battling qualities to come back and take the win. Stevie Curran, Patrick Mc Neice and Brian Toner were among the point scorers for the Fianna.
Ardboe emerged 2-13 to 2-10 winners away to Eglish. Kyle Coney and Michael Hagan scored 1-10 between them for the Rossas with Michael O’Neill their other goal scorer. Peter McCann top scored for Eglish with 1-4 with Emmett McKenna getting their other goal.
