Aghaloo recovered from six points down early on to beat Moortown in their Intermediate championship quarter final clash at Stewartstown on Friday night. Ryan Kelly got a Moortown goal either side of points from Christopher McGuigan, Conan McLernon and Karl Hagan to leave it 1-5 to 0-2 at the end of the opening quarter.
Man of the match Conor Mullen then bagged a 24th minute Aghaloo goal and after he added a point Ruairi McGlone also found the net as Aghaloo turned things around to lead 2-6 to 1-7 at halftime.
Mullen, Darragh Muldoon and substitute Stephen Donnelly all weighed in with quality points and while Moortown responded with efforts from the McLernon brothers Brian and Conan a Niall McElroy “45” ensured that Aghaloo won 2-11 to 1-9 to set up a semi final clash with Derrylaughan.
