Trillick took a while to get into their stride against Eglish on Sunday afternoon but once they found their rhythm they made short work of Collie Holmes’ men.

The first half was nip and tuck throughout and with twenty five minutes on the clock the sides were tied at 0-6 apiece. Trillick had six different scorers at this stage with Niall Gormley, Lee Brennan and Daire Gallagher among them. The county champions took control of the game when they hit 1-1 in the space of a minute just before the break with wingback Niall Donnelly finding the net.

Those scores were a body blow to Eglish who had largely matched their opponents throughout the first half. Sean Mc Killion, Emmett and Ryan Mc Kenna and Paul Mason were the pick of the bunch for Eglish.

In the second half Trillick moved up a couple of gears with Daire Gallagher and Lee Brennan in particular finding plenty of time and space on the ball. A steady supply of scores saw Trillick pull away to lead 1-14 to 0-11 before Gallagher netted when he rounded off a superb team move involving Mattie Donnelly, Niall Gormley and Lee Brennan.

The game was well over as a contest at this stage but Emmett Mc Kenna, Conor Mc Cann and Philip Barker continued to plug away for Eglish. Niall Gormley, Gallagher and Lee Brennan all scored points to further extend the champions’ lead before Brennan sealed the win with the score of the day to leave the final score 3-18 to 0-11 in Trillick’s favour.
