The all Tyrone Danske Bank Rafferty Cup Final took place at Pearse Park in Galbally on Sunday afternoon and St.Ciaran’s Ballygawley came out on top against Holy Trinity Cookstown on a 1-13 to 0-9 scoreline.
The winners led 0-7 to 0-4 at the break with the help of points from Thomas Hoy, Cormac Donaghy, Darragh Canavan, Jason Doyle and Ciaran Traynor, Pauraic Lagan and Shane Murphy on target for Holy Trinity.
When Canavan and Kyle McMenamin stretched that advantage to 0-11 to 0-4 it looked all over bar the shouting. Lagan and Murphy, all scored all their side’s tally between them, hit five in a row to set up a tense finish. St.Ciaran’s though weren’t to be denied with Hoy palming in a 55th minute goal to clinch victory. Hoy finished with 1-4 to his name with fellow corner forward Canavan notching five points.
