Galbally were crowned Intermediate League winners on Tuesday evening after beating Killeeshil at home and nearest rivals Edendork losing to Cookstown. Daniel Kerr and Sean Murphy hit 0-9 between them with Declan Murphy [3] and Damian McCrory [2] also on target as it finished 0-18 to 1-6 at Pearse Park. Shane Mallon top scored for the visitors with 1-4 to his name with Eoghan Donaghy and Rory O’Neill their other marksmen.
Cookstown gained some measure of revenge for their championship defeat when they edged past Edendork under lights at Stewartstown. The Father Rocks led 0-8 to 0-7 at halftime with James McGahan, John Gilmore, Stephen Gervin and Darren McCurry among the points. Brian Mulligan got an early second half goal for Cookstown but Edendork hit back with McCurry converting a penalty. Cookstown then had points from Gilmore, Ruairi Mullan and McGahan but a Morgan goal set up a close finish but Cookstown held on to win 1-16 to 2-11.
