Carrickmore are grade one U16 championship winners after edging past Errigal Ciaran in a pulsating final at Galbally on Saturday afternoon. With the wind at their backs Errigal had the first three points of the game all from Darragh Canavan but by the interval it was Carrickmore who had their noses in front 2-2 to 0-5 after Conor Loughran and Paddy McElduff had both found the net. when Ciaran Cuddy palmed in a goal early in the second half it looked to be all over bar the shouting but in the next attack Jody Farrell got an Errigal goal and when Canavan flicked in they had turned things around to lead 2-8 to 3-2. They never scored again though as Carrickmore staged a rousing finish with points from Ciaran Daly, James McGurk and Oran McKee to take the silverware on a 3-7 to 2-8 scoreline.
