The draw for the 2018 Bank Of Ireland McKenna Cup was made at the Balmoral Hotel in Belfast on Thursday night with holders Tyrone placed in an interesting group A. The O’Neill County are chasing a seventh title in a row and they have been pitted against Cavan, Antrim and St.Marys. Mattie McGleenan’s Cavan side beat Tyrone in the opening game twelve months ago for what proved to be Tyrone’s only loss in Ulster in 2017. Antrim will be looking to make an impact under new management while St.Marys will also prove to be a tough nut to crack especially after winning the Sigerson Cup last year. The three group games will be run off in ten days starting on January 3rd with the semi finals down for 14th and the decider on the 20th.
