Moy are Ulster Intermediate champions after they had the minimum to spare over Rostrevor in the Final at the Athletic Grounds in Armagh on Sunday afternoon.

Harry Loughran put the Tyrone champions in front in the 2nd minute but then Rostrevor got on top. Piaras Kane, Caolan Mooney, Conor Magee and two frees from keeper Jonathan Parr left them leading 0-5 to 0-2 at the end of the opening quarter, a free from Sean Cavanagh the other Moy scorer.

Rostrevor though then went twenty nine minutes without scoring as Moy landed six unanswered scores for an advantage that they were never to lose. Cavanagh converted two frees with team Captain Eunan Deeney on target from play to leave it 0-5 each at the short whistle.

A Cavanagh free opening the second half scoring after forty seconds before Loughran and Deeney were both on target from play again. Mooney then ended Rostrevor’s barren spell from a free but almost immediately Declan Conroy cancelled that score out with a fine effort with the outside of his boot.

In the 51st minute things got worse for Rostrevor when they lost midfielder Conor Magee to a second booking but a Mooney effort from play managed to cut the gap to two. The Down men were then reduced to thirteen men when corner back James Rice got a second booking but they kept plugging away with Mooney making it a one point game. Moy were hanging on but they did enough to be crowned worthy Ulster champions on a 0-9 to 0-8 scoreline.
