2015 champions Trillick will face 2014 champions Omagh in Saturday’s semi final at Pomeroy after the St.Macartans overcame Coalisland 1-12 to 0-12 in their replay at Healy Park on Monday night. Trillick shaded the first half 0-6 to 0-5 with Lee Brennan getting their four points and Ryan Gray and Daniel McDonnell also on target, Paddy McNeice and Cormac O’Hagan with points for the Fianna.

Within four minutes of the restart Coalisland had hit three unanswered points through Padraig Hampsey, O’Hagan and Cathair Quinn to lead 0-8 to 0-6. Trillick though showed great resolve to get the next four points through three Brennan frees and one from play from James Garrity to lead 0-10 to 0-8 at the end of the third quarter. Thornton and Gavin McCarron traded points as did Hampsey and Brennan as the contest slipped into injury time.

The drama was far from finished though as at least seven additional minutes were indicated. A Toner free reduced the deficit to the minimum but then came the crucial score of the night when Brennan converted an injury time penalty. Coalisland had McNeice and Shane Hughes both straight red carded in the closing stages and while Stephen McNally punched a point it came too late to save them.
