Gortin are through to the last eight of the Intermediate championship after they upset the odds with a superb win over a fancied Dungannon side at Loughmacrory on Saturday afternoon.

Scores proved difficult to come by throughout with the Clarkes leading 0-4 to 0-3 at the interval with Patrick Quinn, Dalaigh Jones, Ruairi Keenan and Sean Og McAleer among the points for their respective sides.

A McAleer free on the restart levelled matters before Jones edged Dungannon back in front. Gortin keeper Cathal McCullagh then made a great save to deny Jones a goal. The Clarkes had their chances but they kicked a lot of wides and that helped a dogged Gortin stay in touch. With four minutes to go Eoghan McGarvey drilled a first time shot to the back of the net and that proved to be the crucial score as Peter Clarke tagged on a point as it finished 1-5 to 0-5.
