The annual GAA Golf Challenge takes place once again later this year at Dungarvan on the weekend of September 8th and 9th.
This event has always proven to be very popular with clubs all over Ireland and beyond with teams travelling from as far away as America to compete. With an “All Ireland title” up for grabs the competition is sure to be every bit as keen as it has been in the past. Tyrone clubs have enjoyed varying degrees of success with Drumragh Sarsfields one of the earliest winners.
This year the major charity beneficiary will be “The Michaela Foundation” and Mickey Harte himself was at the launch of the event in Croke Park earlier in the week which was also attended by Waterford senior hurling manager Derek Mc Grath.
The organisers would be delighted to welcome clubs from Tyrone and Ulster in particular with the contact details on the enclosed poster. Teamtalkmag.com will meet this week with two veterans of the event from Tyrone Kevin Mc Crystal and Declan Devine for a chat about the event and the charity work that the organisers are involved in.
