The 2016 TTM All Star Select took on league champions Dromore in Gardrum Park on Wednesday and recorded a 1-14 to 0-9 win in an entertaining game. TTM in association with O’Neills would like to thank the Dromore club for their hospitality on the day and we also wish to pass on our gratitude to all of the supporters who turned up and gave so generously towards the three charities, Motor Neurone Disease Association, Children’s Heartbeat Trust and Strabane Down Syndrome Support Group.
The All Stars got off to the perfect start with a well taken goal from Coalisland star Stephen McNally followed by a point from Aghyaran’s Ronan McHugh. Conor O’Neill opened Dromore’s account with Aodhan O’Donnell, Ciaran McCoy and Sean McDonnell adding further points for the league champions but efforts from Niall Sludden, James Darcy and McNally kept the All Stars in front. Castlederg attacker Mark Corry then had the last two points of the half to leave the All Stars leading 1-7 to 0-5 at the interval.
The winners picked up where they had left off on he restart with Dan Lowe, McNally [2], Corry and Sludden on target, Tyrone star Ronan McNabb with Dromore’s sole response. Conor O’Neill and Sean McNabb then closed the gap but Lowe and Pomeroy’s Hugh Pat McGeary ensured that the All Stars kept their opponents at arms length, Tiarnan Sludden with Dromore’s final score after a fine contest.
