Patrick Fahy and Co Solicitors Intermediate football final
Dromore V Ardboe    Saturday 6pm Greencastle.
Ardboe will start slight favourites on Saturday as they face Dromore in the Tyrone intermediate final after they came through a tough route that included Strabane and then Loughmacrory after a replay.
Dromore for their part defeated a fancied Aghyaran and then Fr Rocks so the underdogs tag won’t phase the experienced man in charge, Paddy O’Brien.
The West Tyrone side have plenty of experience and championship success to call upon. In 2014 they claimed an Ulster junior title and while they may have lost a few players they have a decent crop coming through and they have the ability to clinch the Tommy McGarvey cup.
With Louise Daly and Siobhan O’Hagan at the helm Ardboe will feel they really have a chance this year. They have been very impressive  at times with Niamh Teague, Hannah Lydon and Karen Quinn central to their team’s hopes.
On their way to the final Daly’s side beat Drumragh , Strabane and a strong Loughmacrory side after a replay.
Two Tyrone players captain their respective clubs on Saturday, Catherine McNabb Dromore while Karen Quinn leads Ardboe. The teak tough defender is looking forward to the final: “We have worked hard to reach this stage. We overcame three very credible teams including an intensive replay with Loughmacrory. We had to battle hard and worked tirelessly as a team to see out the result.”
McNabb will lead her side and her defence against Ardboe at Greencastle. It could be a busy afternoon for her and her teammates as they face a very experienced attack although this Dromore side have an abundance of that key experience.
The midfield battle will be crucial. Nuala McHugh and Grainne McRory are likely to be tasked with that role for Dromore  while Rebecca O’Brien will once again be deployed in a sweeping role.
O’Brien was superb against Fr Rocks in the last four although the Cookstown side did come back in the latter stages but  Ciara McMahon Louise McCann , Emma Smyth and Shaunna McNabb did enough to book their place in the final.
Although Ardboe go into this game as favourites Dromore do have the talent to cause an upset but it would come as a huge surprise if the intermediate title was not heading to the lough-shore this evening.
