Aghaloo and Moortown must do it all over again after a cracking Donnelly Vauxhall Intermediate Championship quarter final finished all square at Pearse Park in Galbally on Saturday afternoon.
Aghaloo though will feel that they should have closed the game out as they held a six point lead with thirteen minutes to go although credit has to go to the Loughshore men who refused to accept defeat. Conor Mullen blasted in an early goal for Aghaloo and with Niall McElroy and Conan McLernon among the points for their respective sides it was Aghaloo who shaded the first half 1-4 to 0-6.
Peter Devlin levelled matters on the restart but a superb Mullen point was followed by a McElroy goal as Aghaloo looked set to close the game out. A couple of Conan McLernon frees was followed by a brilliant goal from his brother Brian and with four minutes to go the deficit was down to the minimum. McLernon levelled matters only for McElroy to put Aghaloo in front but in the seventh minute of injury time Daniel Kelly split the posts as it finished 2-8 to 1-11.
