Galbally played host to Kildress in a crucial game in division one on Saturday evening and the Pearses stretched their unbeaten run to four games with a 2-14 to 1-13 success.  Daniel Kerr found the net after only fifteen seconds and Liam Rafferty added a trio of points for a 1-3 to 0-0 lead after only five minutes.  Despite playing against the wind Kildress managed to close the gap to the minimum at the break thanks to a few frees from the boot of Des Treacy as well as a couple of spectacular efforts from play from Niall Quinn.

Martin Grimes levelled matters on the restart but then half time substitute Declan Murphy scored a well taken goal for the Pearses.  Frank McGurk closed the gap before a first time Quinn shot went to the net to put the Wolfe Tones in front. Galbally though didn’t panic and with Ciaran McCrory on top in midfield they took over. Paul Rafferty, Liam Rafferty, Sean Murphy, Kerr and Full back Martin Brannigan all got points as they eased clear of the danger zone to leave Kildress still rooted to bottom spot.
