League leaders Dromore visited Clonoe on Sunday afternoon and came away with a resounding twelve point victory. The Clonoe men played with fourteen men for the entire second half following a straight red card for Patrick Doris shortly after the half time whistle. Dromore led 0-6 to 0-3 at the break thanks to first half points from Emmett McNabb, Conor O’Neill, Sean McDonnell, Sean McNabb and Eoin McCusker. Clonoe’s three points all came from frees converted by Connor McAliskey. After the break Dromore poured on the pressure and by the 47th minute they had added a further five points with McCusker, Ciaran McCoy and Emmett O’Neill all on target. Clonoe finally got their first point from play with seven minutes to go thanks to Conor Hughes. Dromore however finished strong as Niall Sludden added a point and Emmett McNabb rifled home an injury time goal.

Three points from Peter Harte helped Errigal to two points in Trillick.  The sides were level at the break 1-4 to 0-7.  The Trillick goal arrived in the 19th minutes courtesy of Nial Gormley following two points from Lee Brennan.  Errigal’s Mark Kavanagh hit two points for the visitors during that period while Bryan Horisk, Tommy Canavan, Peter Harte and Pauric McAnenly were also on target for Errigal.  After the short whistle Errigal jumped three points ahead thanks to Declan Quinn and Bryan Horisk before two Lee Brennan points brought Trillick to within a single point.  Peter Harte hit two points for Errigal in the 39th and 49th minute and two late Trillick scores from Niall Gormley and Daire Gallagher concluded the scoring.  It wasn’t enough to deny Errigal Ciaran both points.

Edendork hosted bottom of the table Kildress in St Malachy’s on Sunday and recorded a two point win.  Kildress has a narrow 0-4 to 0-3 lead over their hosts at the break.  Frank McGurk hit two for the visitors during that time while their other points came from Niall Quinn and Philip Lennon.  Paul Donaghy was on the scoreboard twice for the St Malachy’s men during this period with Darren McCurry adding the third score.  The third quarter saw a five point shared between the two sides.  Two Frank McGurk points were cancelled out by scores from Darren McCurry, Stephen Girvan, and Niall Morgan.  Edendork’s only goal of the game came in the 46th minute via Paul Donaghy who punched a long ball into the square to the net. Seconds later Niall Morgan stepped into goals for a Kildress penalty kick but Niall Quinn coolly slotted home.  That was as good as it got for Kildress as three points from Niall Morgan and a second Stephen Girvan point eased Edendork home.

Galbally recorded a hard fought 0-11 to 0-10 win on Sunday over neighbours Carrickmore at Pearse Park. There was little between the sides throughout the game and it took a long range point from Ronan Nugent in stoppage time to secure the points for the home side.

The sides were level five times during the first half with Mickey Donaghy, Martin Penrose and Mark Donnelly on target for the visitors. Points from Paul Murphy (3), Neil Hagan (2) and Blaine Nugent ensured the teams went in tied six apiece at the break.

The teams finished fourteen aside following straight red cards for Martin Penrose and Martin Brannigan as tempers flared in the second half. Once again scores were hard to come by and when Mickey Donaghy put his team two up it looked like Carrickmore might take the points.  Galbally dug deep however and showed great heart to land the last three points of the game from Blaine Nugent, Neil Hagan and Ronan Nugent to secure the victory.

Strabane will be wondering just how they managed to lose this game at home to Greencastle. After a very impressive first half they led 1-6 to 0-3 with Kyle Morrison bagging their goal and Warner Mullen hitting a couple of sweet points. Indeed when Morrison bagged his team’s second goal five minutes into the second half there seemed to be only one possible outcome.

However Greencastle found the resolve to get themselves back into the game following a couple of points from Mark Carson and Chrissy Gillen and a goal in the 48th minute from Sean Warnock. Four further points followed to tie the game at 2-7 to 1-10 before Haydn Mc Namee put the Sigersons back in front as the clock showed 58 minutes. Greencastle refused to panic and landed three fine points to take the win and two valuable league points.

Final score: Strabane 2-8, Greencastle 1-13.

Killyclogher travelled to Augher and came away convincing winners on a final score-line of 2-14 to 0-7. Daire Donnelly opened the scoring for the home side but that was as good as it got for the St. Macartans. With county men Mark Bradley and Tiernan Mc Cann in fine form the visitors reached the break 0-9 to 0-4 in front James Carlin, Leo Meenan, Mark Bradley and Tiernan Mc Cann each hitting a brace of points.

They men in blue began the second half with a fine goal from Niall Mc Fadden and the second half became something of a procession. Further scores from Tiernan and Conal Mc Cann, Mark Bradley and Mc Fadden as well as a fine goal from Tiernan Cox secured the win for Killyclogher. Aidan Cassidy and Oran Mc Ginn did reply with scores for Augher but it was a case of too little too late.

Coalisland’s ability to create and score goals proved to be the difference in Sunday evening’s late fixture as the Fianna recorded a 4-14 to 0-11 win over Eglish. In a fairly close first half there was little between the teams with only a single point separating the sides at the break. Cahir Quinn’s first half goal proved the key score and helped send his side in at the short whistle leading 1-6 to 0-8. Peter Mc Cann, Ciaran Colton, Emmett Mc Kenna and Philip Barker were all on target for the St. Patrick’s in that first half.

The outcome of the game was decided by a burst of scoring between the 51st and 54th minutes when Shane Corr bagged two goals and a point for Coalisland and the home team then eased to a 4-14 to 0-11 win. Dermot Thornton finished with 1-3 while Brian Toner (3) and Stephen Mc Nally (4) were also on target for the Fianna.
