Errigal Ciaran eased to victory over Killyclogher on Sunday and laid a real marker down for the rest of the season in doing so. With Davy and Peter Harte in fine form and their young midfield duo of Padraig Mc Girr and Ben Mc Donnell dominating centre-field they led by four at the break but pulled away to win 2-14 to 0-11. Playing with the wind in the first half Errigal looked very assured with Paudge Mc Anenley in particular causing the home defence all sorts of problems. His goal after five minutes helped Errigal reach the break leading by four. However they looked under pressure early in the second half after Killyclogher narrowed the gap to a single point following a run of scores from Conal Mc Cann, Nathan Donnelly and Tiernan Cox. Unfortunately for the home team that was as good as it got and Errigal raced away with the game following a fantastic goal by Peter Harte. Killyclogher looked deflated and Errigal added a further six points before their opponents scored again. Final Score: Killyclogher 0-11, Errigal Ciaran 2-14.
Niall Gormley scored the only goal of the game as County champions Trillick maintained their impressive early season form with a victory at Edendork. Lee Brennan landed seven points for the visitors with County colleague Richard Donnelly getting a couple as well. Good news for Edendork and Tyrone was the return from injury of Darren McCurry and he contributed seven points with defender Conor Mallon notching a brace as well. Final score: Edendork 0-12 Trillick 1-13
Omagh travelled to O’Rahilly Park to take on Clonoe in a clash between two sides who will meet in the championship first round and it was the St.Endas who took the spoils by the minimum margin to inflict a first defeat of the season on the defending champions. Ronan O’Neill top scored for the winners with six points, Jason McAnulla got their goal and Cathal McCarron and Conor O’Donnell got a couple of points each. Declan McClure and Patrick Doris were the Clonoe goal scorers with Danny McNulty scoring three points. Final score: Clonoe 2-9 Omagh 1-13
Connolly Park was the setting for the crucial encounter between Eglish and Augher and it was the St.Macartans who claimed the spoils with four points to spare at the final whistle. Darragh Kavanagh, Dara Donnelly and Declan Connolly scored a dozen points between them for the visitors with Ciaran Colton top scoring for Eglish with five and Sean McKillion and Tiarnan McVeigh getting a couple each. Augher keeper Artie Kelly saved an Enda McElroy penalty. Final score: Eglish 0-11 Augher 0-15
Carrickmore picked up their second win of the campaign when their short trip to Greencastle proved to be a fruitful one. Ruairi Loughran found the net early on for the St.Colmcilles to send them on their way to victory while Mark Donnelly and Barry Daly scored 0-7 between them. Cahir McCullagh top scored for the hosts with five points with Mark Carson kicking four. Final score: Greencastle 0-11 Carrickmore 1-13
