Holy Trinity Cookstown won their first ever Colleges title when they held off a determined St.Pat’s Armagh side to win the inaugural Oisin McGrath Shield at Maghery on Wednesday morning. A Shea Lawn penalty coupled with points from the O’Hare twins Shea and Sean saw the winners lead by the minimum margin at halftime, 1-6 to 2-2.
Matthew Conlon got an early second half goal for Holy Trinity and that was followed by a fine point from Callan Devlin. It was still anybody’s game but Shea Lawn found the net twice more to open up a gap and while Armagh fought back Holy Trinity did enough to win on a 4-9 to 4-6 scoreline.
