Coalisland will carry the East flag into the senior championship semi finals following a comfortable 0-17 to 0-9 victory over Donaghmore at O’Neill Park in Dungannon on Saturday evening.
The St. Patricks gave it their best shot on the night but the 2010 O’Neill Cup winners always looked to be in control. The winners led 0-7 to 0-4 at the break with man of the match Plunkett Kane getting a couple of points with Brian Toner and Paddy McNeice also on target, Deasun Quinn, Niall McKenna and Mark Hetherington with Donaghmore points.
Kane and Quinn exchanged points on the restart but each time Donaghmore got it back to three the Fianna were always able to respond. Kane and McNeice both finished with four points each with Toner getting three and the strength of Coalisland’s bench was also evident with Dan Fee, Cathaoir Quinn and Sean Corr all getting their names on the scoresheet. Quinn finished with three points for Donaghmore with Dan Toner getting a brace but it wasn’t enough on the night.
