Aghaloo booked their place in the final of the Tyrone Junior football championship after a very comprehensive second half performance over Tattyreagh in Augher this evening. Aghaloo had a four point advantage at the end of the opening thirty minutes. The first half was fairly low key stuff however eight different scorers did chip in with points to leave both sides level at 0-4 apiece by the 25th minute. Tattyreagh’s points came via Joe Cartin, Damian Mullan, Colin Harkin and Darren Mullan while Aghaloo’s scorers included Ruairi McGlone, Tiarnan Donnelly, Stephen Donnelly and Niall Henderson.

Aghaloo finished the half much the stronger however with further points from Tiarnan Donnelly and Ruairi McGlone before Donnelly finished the ball soccer style to the Tattyreagh net a minute from the break. That left the half time score Aghaloo 1-6 Tattyreagh 0-4.

After the short whistle Aghaloo dominated proceedings and outscored Tattyreagh 0-6 to 0-2 in the opening 19 minutes before an excellent goal from team captain Brian McKenna finished the game as a contest. James Darcy had two second half points for Tattyreagh and Robert Porter added the other score. Aghaloo were much too strong and kicked points at will through Henderson, Niall McElroy, Jody McGlone, Ruari McGlone and Brian McKenna. One of the features of the game was the positional sense of the evergreen Stephen Donnelly who filtered in and out of defence and seemed to be in the right place as and when required. Final Score Aghaloo 2-16 Tattyreagh 0-7
