It’s a case of what could have been! Tyrone defender Ronan McNamee has had his black card from the All Ireland semi final rescinded. The Aghyaran clubman was dismissed in the second half of their defeat at the hands of Kerry after a challenge on Colm Cooper. His appeal was heard by the Central Hearings Committee at Croke Park last night.
The CHC, after reviewing video evidence, found that McNamee had no case to answer. It was a case of what could have been for Tyrone given the fact that he was dismissed at a crucial point in the game having been one of Tyrone’s marque defenders throughout the 2015 season. With a clear disciplinary record McNamee must come into contention for a National All Star award given his performances in the number three jersey.
