Omagh despite the not fielding any of their county players were too strong for Eglish on Sunday. Conor McCann, Peter McCann and Paul Mason were all on the scoreboard for Eglish but Omagh still led 0-11 to 0-6 at the break thanks to scores from Jason McAnulla, Conan Grugan, Conor O’Donnell and Ciaran McLaughlin. Paul Mason and Peter McCann had second half points for Eglish but O’Donnell, Rory McBride, Grugan and Michael Gallagher all featured among the points scorers for the hosts. Michael Gallagher also added the only goal of the game.
Trillick made it two wins from two over Dungannon this season. Niall Gormley and Patrick Molloy swapped points early on but Sean Kelly added a goal to ease Trillick clear. Keifer Morgan and Patrick Molloy added points to close the gap but Gormley, Daire Gallagher, Francis McCaughey and Ryan Gray fired points for the home side and Gary McKenna goaled to ensure that Trillick earned both points.
Strabane hosted Augher in another championship repeat with the home side eventually winning out by five points. Augher had led 0-8 to 0-5 at the break with Daire Kavanagh (0-6) and Aidan Cassidy on target for the St Macartan’s side. Mickey Logue, John Paul Gallagher and Brian Breslin hit back for the Sigersons. After the break Gallagher added another three points before a long range free from Warner Mullan sailed all the way to the net. Augher tried to get back into the game through points from Kavanagh but Strabane closed the game out with scores from Breslin, Gallagher and Logue.
Donaghmore and Moy shared the points in a game that both sides badly needed to win. Donaghmore had the early advantage with Caolan Mulgrew, Cormac McCann and Dan Toner registering scores for the home side. Ryan O’Neill, Eunan Deeney and Ryan Coleman dragged Moy level by the break. Caolan Mulgrew was sent off just before the break. Peter McKenna and Aidan McCluskey hit Donaghmore points after the short whistle but scores from Niall Conlon, Deeney and Coleman edged Moy two in front. Donaghmore had the final say though with injury time frees from McCann and McKenna to save a point.
Coalisland edged themselves back towards the top of the table with a four point home win over Ardboe. The Lough-shore lads were in front at the break 0-8 to 0-7 after first half points from Michael Cassidy, Kyle Coney, Shea McGuigan and David Mulgrew. Plunkett Kane and Brian and Philip Toner amassed the Coalisland tally in that period. Dermot Thornton got Coalisland’s first goal after the break and Philip Toner added a second minutes later. Tommy McGuigan got a late consolation for the Ardboe men.
Carrickmore hosted Greencastle on Sunday and handed the St Patrick’s men a 24 point defeat. Martin Penrose and Mark Donnelly weighed in with six points between them in the opening period with Paul McAleer and Mickey Donaghy also adding scores. Shane Coyle was on target for Greencastle after the break as was Cahir McCullagh but Carrickmore pulled away thanks to points from Paul McAleer, Aidan Fullerton, and Colin Travers. Mark Donnelly and Martin Penrose hit the Carrickmore goals.
Killyclogher fired over six unanswered points at the end of their game with Clonoe to take both points. PJ Lavery and Patrick Doris swapped early scores with James Carlin and Thomas Flanagan. Flanagan then hit a goal to help Killyclogher lead by three at the break. Simon O’Neill punched home a second Killyclogher goal after the break. However Clonoe hit back immediately with points from Martin Hughes and Ciaran O’Neill. Killyclogher then pulled away in the final quarter with Leo Meenan and James Carlin leading the scoring.
Dromore remain top of Division 1 after they visited Errigal Ciaran this afternoon and came away with both points. A straight red for Shane Hackett hurt Errigal’s prospects but they managed to reach the break leading 1-5 to 0-5 with their goal coming from Declan Quinn. Pauric McAnenly, Emmett O’Neill and Colm McCullagh were amongst the points for their respective teams. The sides were level again going into the third quarter but Colm McCullagh and Ryan O’Neill got the scores to help Dromore over the line.
