Galbally moved two points clear at the top of the Division two table thanks to a hard earned win over Cookstown at Pearse Park on Thursday evening. The visitors began well with points from John Gilmore, Christopher Eastwood and Barry Potter but a Sean Murphy goal levelled matters. Liam Rafferty and Declan Murphy exchanged points with James McGahan and Gilmore to leave it all square at the break 0-8 to 1-5.
Paul Rafferty had the Pearses first four points of the second half from frees but with five minutes left to play it was level again thanks to efforts from Dylan Coyle, Gilmore and Eastwood. Sean Murphy then fisted Galbally into the lead before substitute Enda McGarrity landed an injury time insurance point as it finished 1-11 to 0-12.
