Tattyreagh and Fintona will face each other in a mouth-watering Junior championship quarter final after they overcame Errigal Ciaran Thirds and Dregish respectively at Eskra on Sunday afternoon.

The Dunmoyle based men took an early lead with a brilliantly taken goal from Niall Quinn but that only served to sting Tattyreagh into action. Sean Gormley, Johnny Harkin,   Robert Porter and Joe Cartin all notched points as they led 0-9 to 1-3 at the break, Ronan Tierney with the last two points of the half for Errigal.

In the second half Tattyreagh took over as they pulled away from their opponents. Barry Montgomery got the only goal of the game with the superb James Darcy landing half a dozen points as they won 1-17 to 1-7.

Fintona defeated Dregish 3-8 to 0-6 but it wasn’t as comfortable as the final score line would suggest. The first half was very poor with an Aaron McCarney free going straight to the net as the Pearses led 1-3 to 0-3, Cathal Rodgers and Pauric Kelly among the points for their respective sides.

Niall Mellon got an early second half goal for the winners to effectively end the game as a contest. Tony Quinn hit three points on the day for Dregish but Tommy McGrath and Bernard Cassidy had a brace each for the Pearses while Sonny McDonagh converted a penalty.
