Niall Morgan is part of the Ireland team currently preparing for the test against Australia next weekend. Here’s the latest update from the Edendork man.
“Sunday 16th: We had our first game today! We went for a walk to loosen out early this morning and then on to the pre match meal. We played a VFL selection at the Sandringham Oval and won the game well. 100 – 27. It was a good blow out. I conceded a goal in the last quarter resulting in a $20 fine. Harsh enough I thought. Mattie thought it was hilarious until he got caught wearing the wrong T-Shirt and also got a $20 fine. We went down to the beach after the game and jumped into the water to aid our recovery. Darren Hughes thought it would be funny to rugby tackle me in. Long runs the fox!! Colm O’Neill from Cork was brilliant in the game and top scored but was still pipped to the man of the match by our own Sean Cavanagh! Tonight we will go for some ‘team bonding’ before we start our preparation for the Aussie’s next Saturday! Hopefully we won’t lose Mattie again but there’s no guarantee of that, and that we are all fit and well in the morning!.”
