Dungannon are into the Intermediate championship final after a superb second half display at Plunkett Park saw them overcome Urney on a 1-12 to 1-6 scoreline. A well taken Ronan Lafferty separated the two sides at the break as last season’s beaten finalists led by three, Jamie McAleer and Matthew Walsh with points for their respective sides.
In the second half Urney only managed two points as the Clarkes took over with a superb brand of attacking football. Padraig McNulty was a tower of strength in midfield as they drove forward with Keifer Morgan, Walsh, centre half back Peter Muldoon and Patrick Quinn all supplying points with the latter also finishing in style to the bottom right hand corner of the net after great approach play from Colm Corrigan. They play Trillick in the final in a game that will bring back memories of the 1986 senior final which the St.Macartans won after a replay, the last time that they were O’Neill Cup winners.
